Roanoke College Athletics March 12 Coronavirus Update

Roanoke Athletics and Roanoke College continue to monitor the ongoing Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak. At this time, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on campus. We will continue to update this page regularly.

Athletics

Until further notice from the NCAA and or the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, our plan is to continue with our spring intercollegiate athletic schedule.  Our events this weekend:

  • Friday March 13, vs. Bridgewater, Men’s Tennis, at HOME, RC Tennis Complex
  • Saturday March 14, Doubleheader vs. Washington and Lee, at HOME, 12 noon and 3:00 pm, Salem Memorial Stadium/Haley Toyota Field
  • Saturday March 14, Women’s Lacrosse vs. Rowan, 12 noon, AWAY
  • Saturday March 14, Men’s Lacrosse vs. Guilford, at HOME

We encourage you to check back daily to confirm. 

Spectators attending athletics events:

For the health of the campus community, we are limiting attendance at athletic events to family members only.  We recommend that all attendees minimize close contact with each other.  We urge our fans to check other institutions for their spectator policies before attending Roanoke College away games.  Remember that one can view our livesteamed events. 

Student-Athlete Choice

We encourage our student-athletes to speak with their families regarding their continued participation in intercollegiate athletics during this period.  Coaches have been instructed to let their student-athletes know that, if they so choose, they are free to return home.
