Clay Street House Coverage and Timeline

The little house on the corner of Clay Street and Thompson Memorial Drive has undergone a long renovation. After dedication from Roanoke College staff, students, and local Salem civilians, the house has been renewed to last for years to come to serve as a historical landmark for the area. Tedious construction and research went in to the renovation of the house but it has all paid off -- the Clay Street House is looking beautiful and ready to welcome all those interested in its history to enter the door and have a firsthand look at historical Salem.
