Economics majors get automatic admission to WVU grad program with new partnership
November 15, 2021
Roanoke College students who graduate with a B.A. in Economics with at least a 3.25 GPA (overall) are guaranteed admission to the M.S. Economics program at West Virginia University. Additionally, WVU will waive the application fee and GRE/GMAT requirement.
“It opens a door of opportunity even wider for Roanoke College Economics majors,” said Dr. Alice Kassens, John S. Shannon Professor of Economics at Roanoke College. “The relationship reduces the time, cost and stress associated with applying to graduate school. This is the first articulation agreement for the Economics program, and we are thrilled that it is with an institution like West Virginia University that has a strong reputation for economics and mentoring their economics students.”

This agreement joins several other partnerships the College has with graduate programs. The public health department has a preferred admission partnership with Boston University; the health and exercise science department has partnerships with University of Lynchburg and Shenandoah University; and the chemistry department has partnerships with Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
