Student Emergency Fund the focus of Giving Tuesday
November 19, 2018
Giving Tuesday is a global giving day dedicated to giving back. This 24-hour event is held the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This year, Roanoke’s Giving Tuesday effort is focused on a new area of giving, the Student Emergency Fund.
The Maroon Nation is a close-knit family and when someone needs help, we traditionally rise together to support one another. The Student Emergency Fund is a new way to impact students and help our community be ready for emergencies. The fund will support students experiencing an immediate financial hardship resulting from an emergency, accident, a death in the immediate family, or other unexpected critical incident.
Make a difference for a Roanoke student today.
Regardless of the amount, each gift supports Roanoke students. In addition, gifts from alumni support the College in additional ways. Alumni engagement and giving participation builds Roanoke’s reputation. Alumni giving is a critical indicator of institutional success monitored in higher education rankings and assessment.
