What a great start to the year!

Roanoke's new year is off to a great start with lots of incredible happenings in September.
It's an election year so politics is a hot topic. Chelsea Clinton visited campus and shared the stage with Roanoke students to discuss the cost of education and Hillary Clinton's education plan. Author and columnist Ben Shapiro came to campus to speak to students for his talk titled "Facts Don't Care About Your Feelings."
A distinguished panel of campus experts and local officials led Roanoke's celebration of Constitution Day.
The Beehive Collective, an activist artists group, spent the entire month on campus and worked with many classes and students on an art project.
Waka Flocka Flame held a concert in the Bast Center, and it was probably the biggest crowd since John Mayer or Kanye West visited the campus several years ago. Roanoke alumnus Adam Rutledge '04 returned to play for FOTQ.
Students also enjoyed the beauty of campus and Southwestern Virginia, with athletic events, paddleboarding on Claytor Lake and bubble soccer on the Back Quad.
What a great start to the year!
