Maroon Spotlight - Deadline extended to Feb. 6

Roanoke College kicks off the celebration of its 175th anniversary in January 2017. Much more information is to come about the 175th and it can all be found at roanoke.edu/175. 

In celebration of Roanoke College's 175th anniversary in 2017, we invite the Maroon Nation to help identify Maroons to be in the spotlight. With Maroon Spotlight, Roanoke College will recognize and honor members of the College community who have made a significant impact in areas such as the sciences, military, education, religion, government service, innovations, and more.

Because the goal is to recognize Maroons throughout Roanoke College's 175 years, nominees may be living or deceased. For example, Maroon Spotlight for Government Service would not be complete without the inclusion of Henry Fowler '29, who served as President John F. Kennedy's Secretary of the Treasury. 

The deadline for Maroon Spotlight nominations has been extended to allow nominations to be submitted through February 6, 2017: 

• on the Maroon Spotlight form.  
• by email rcnews@roanoke.edu
• via snail mail to Maroon Spotlight 175, Roanoke College, 221 College Lane, Salem, VA 24153.

Please include reason for nomination, the significant impact the individual has made in their field and contact information for both you and the nominee. You may submit more than one nomination.

Categories include: Sciences, Athletics, Military, Alumni under 30, Community Service, Politics/Government Service, Student Leaders, Professors, Faculty/Staff Mentors, Innovators, Clergy, Artists, Lutherans, Educators, and Industry Leaders or Entrepreneurs.

You may nominate any Roanoke College alumni, living or deceased. Faculty/Staff Mentors do not need to be Roanoke alumni but should be current or former employees of the College. 

Nominations will be accepted until February 6, 2017.
