Dr. Harry Wilson featured on NPR's "1A" program
Dr. Harry Wilson, public affairs professor and director of Roanoke College's Institute for Policy & Opinion Research, was interviewed about guns and politics on the popular NPR radio program, "1A." He was featured at the top of the program.
History students travel to the Korean Peninsula, WDBJ-7
Associate history professor Dr. Stella Xu traveled with several students to South Korea for three weeks in late spring. Roanoke College was one of only eight institutions to be offered this opportunity by the ASIANetwork, an organization that promotes undergraduate Asian studies. Read more here.

Author Phyllis Theroux reviews "Courageous Fool," an historical novel by Dr. Todd Peppers and alum Margaret Anderson '13
Critically acclaimed essayist, columnist, author and teacher Phyllis Theroux reviewed political science professor Dr. Todd Peppers' and Roanoke graduate Margaret Anderson's book, "A Courageous Fool." The work is part biography and part memoir, developed from the unfinished writings of Marie Deans, advocate for convicted felons on death row in Virginia and South Carolina.
Dr. Edward Nik-Khah weighs in on big pharma in "The New Republic"
Economics professor Dr. Edward Nik-Khah is quoted in an article that explores the pharmaceutical economic model, a piece that can be found here. Nik-Khah also has written a chapter in the book, "Routledge Handbook of Genomics, Health and Society," and co-written a chapter in "The SAGE Handbook of Neoliberalism." Local school named after well-known alumnus Jack Fishwick '37
Roanoke City's Stonewall Jackson Middle School is being renamed to honor the late Jack Fishwick '37. An industry and community leader, Fishwick served on the Roanoke College Board of Trustees. WSLS-10 carried the story.

Freshman get oriented to service with R House

Local media visit campus for opening day
TV stations WDBJ and WXFR were on hand during opening week to witness the influx of students on campus from 30 states and 14 countries. The freshman class is 640 students strong.
