Roanoke College is proud to roll out a new service that makes it easier than ever for students and alumni to connect for advice and networking — all without another app to log into or use.
Meet A Maroon recruits alumni to help you with career tracks, resumes, internships, jobs, graduate school and more. Its AI technology shares your question with the best 15-20 Maroons just for you, based on their careers, location, degrees and other factors. All you have to do is ask.
Wondering if an MBA is right for you? Interested in a career in sustainability? Curious about a gap year and how it could help you land that dream job? Meet A Maroon will do the outreach to the best Roanoke alumni for you — until you’ve had a response.
But Meet A Maroon isn’t just for students. Roanoke alumni can use the service to ask their own questions and network with other leaders in their fields. The result is a stronger, more connected community.
Meet A Maroon is powered by AI technology from Protopia. By launching the service, Roanoke is joining other leading schools — including Duke University, Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Michigan — in making it simpler than ever before to network for career development and professional advice.

Connect with the click of a button. We meant it when we said simple. To seek advice and start networking, all a Maroon needs to do is share what they are looking for through a short form. The request is analyzed by AI and sent off to 15-20 relevant alumni for a response. No muss, no fuss.
Flexible and reliable engagement. When alumni are matched with a question, they get a private message asking if they have time to assist. If it’s not a good time, no problem. They can just click that option to let us know. The program will move on to the next person who was a match in the queue. It will continue until it has a top-notch response for the person who submitted the question.
Hassle-free design. With Meet A Maroon, there are no new apps to download or log-ins to remember. The service can be accessed automatically by Roanoke alumni and students. Responses and messages are sent to the email address that is already part of their day-to-day life. Users should be sure to add meetamaroon@roanoke.edu to their email contacts so no messages are missed.
