Morris and Anderson present at Honors Conference
November 09, 2016
Dr. Chad Morris and Dr. Kelly Anderson were selected to be presenters at the 51st annual National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) in Seattle, Washington.
Morris and Anderson presented a session entitled, "Using e-Portfolios to ‘Know Yourself': Opportunities for Reflection, Continuity and Honors Program Assessment." Morris is the director of the Honors Program and Anderson is the associate director of the program.
The presentation is centered on how the Roanoke College Honors Program uses e-Portfolio as a foundation to further and strengthen the intellectual pursuits of honors students. The Honors e-Portfolio connects the students' experiences in- and outside of the classroom, enabling them to reflect on what they have learned, make connections across those experiences, and determine future paths including the development of individualized Distinction Projects. The e-Portfolio exemplifies Roanoke College's commitment to individualized student mentoring and whole person learning.
NCHC hosted nearly 2,000 students and faculty from all 50 states at the Seattle event, as well as visitors from Mexico, Greece, the Netherlands, Japan, Qatar, Great Britain, and China.
