Several Maroons have been in the news over break so here's a quick update on stories you may have missed:
Daniel Osborne spent part of his summer in Scotland with the Fulbright program. The experience of his Scotland Fulbright group was highlighted in a video on the website for The Guardian, an international newspaper. Way to go Daniel!
One of our environmental science majors, Mackay Pierce, published an op-ed article in The Roanoke Times about climate change. Nice work Mackay!

This is a presidential election year and political news seems like all the news, all the time. Christian Science Monitor has included two Roanoke College professors in their stories as expert sources.
Dr. Harry Wilson has appeared in Christian Science Monitor twice in recent months. Most recently, he was a source in a story about President Obama's evolution on gun policy. In December, he was a source for an article about "prayer shaming" related to gun violence stories.
Dr. Denise Friedman is a frequent media source on social media and she also served as a source for the Christian Science Monitor's story on this year's election season being a "selfie" election.
The men's basketball team has been getting lots of coverage, from TV and newspaper alike, for their winning streak. Go Maroons!
