Virginia Private College Week July 23-28
July 16, 2018
Roanoke College is one of 24 participating colleges in the 2018 Virginia Private College Week hosted by the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia (CICV). The program will be held July 23 to July 28.
Students will experience a campus tour and information sessions about admission, financial aid and academic programs during the Private College Week, as well as a discussion on the affordability of private colleges.
"This is an ideal opportunity to get an initial feel for a college and its surrounding area," Dr. Brenda Poggendorf, vice president of enrollment, said. "Then return later to those campuses that make the 'short list' to meet the heart of any campus — the faculty and students."
High school students and their parents are encouraged to go to a minimum of three CICV college visits in order to be eligible to have three college application fees waived (for participating colleges) and for the chance to win a $500 Amazon gift card.
"Visiting campuses in person is one of the most important steps in the college search process," said Robert Lambeth, president of CICV. "I encourage parents to explore which college will be the best fit for their son or daughter, and I want to reassure them that a quality education at a Virginia private college is affordable and within reach."
Roanoke College will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a Saturday morning session at 9 a.m. for visits. For more information and to schedule your visit, go to the Roanoke College Admissions page here.
