Dr. Kim Soo-oak traveled from Seoul, Korea, and Allen Kim traveled from New York City to walk the campus where their grandfather, Kim Kyusik, graduated in 1903. They were accompanied by the consul from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea.

The awarding of diplomas spanned 178 Bachelor of Arts degrees, 145 Bachelor of Science degrees and 73 Bachelor of Business Administration degrees. In a major milestone, it also included 10 Master of Business Administration degrees for the first graduating class of Roanoke’s 4+1 MBA program.
