1. The basketball on the bookshelves to the left in this photo has been replaced by a cowboy hat, a nod to President Frank and Rev. Kelly Shushok's Texas roots.
2. A tiny stuffed Rooney is now perched on the ladder at left in this photo. You can purchase your own adorable stuffed Rooney in our online store at roanoke.edu/store. Occasionally, we receive photos from alumni who still have their Rooney stuffie. Some have even traveled the world with him!
3. The painting behind President Shushok now sports a maroon tree - how appropriate!
4. There is now an apple atop the stack of books on Dr. Shushok's desk. Dr. Shushok and his wife Kelly are both avid readers. She says the night stands in their bedroom are overloaded with books they are reading or plan to read.
5. President Shushok has shifted a little to his left, leaving more space between him and his desk chair.
6. President Shushok is now wearing a Roanoke College baseball cap. That was an easy one!
7. Shushok is crossing his right leg over his left. In the original photo, his pose was the other way around.
8. The leatherbound books on the top shelf of the right bookcase have changed from black to green.
9. The hammer sitting on top of the books on the right bookcase has disappeared. The hammer is a reminder of Roanoke's annual R House projects, which pair students with Habitat for Humanity to build a home for a local family. In 2024, we celebrated the completion and ribbon-cutting for the 19th R House!
10. The framed photo that was sitting on top of the stack of books on the floor at right has disappeared.
11. And now for the hardest one. It took a real hawk eye to spot this one: Shushok's lapel pin has shifted from one side to the other.
