A little about this year's Benne Fellows, from left to right,
Emily Brown is a sophomore on the Dean's list, majoring in Christian Studies. At Salem High she won a Virginia state title in public speaking, and at Roanoke College has already been a founding member of the Sigma Alpha Omega sorority.
Chelsea Schafer is a junior honors student majoring in Sociology, minoring in Literary Studies, and earning a concentration in Parish Youth Leadership. She has been the community outreach coordinator for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and now serves on IVCF's executive.
Ben Cowgill is an honors senior majoring in Christian Studies. He just completed his appointment as a Summer Research Scholar, serves as the president of the Student Government Association, and is entering an Episcopal Seminary next fall.
Samuel McKnight is an honors freshman. Last summer as an eagle scout, he was a leader for the global scout jamboree in Japan. Just getting started at Roanoke College, he is most interested in possibly majoring in International Relations and Religious Studies, when not hiking the area mountains.
Linnea Kremer is an honors senior majoring in Physics, with minors in Mathematics and Christian Studies. She was a founding member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter at Roanoke College, and is one of the leaders for the annual Israel-Palestine Peace Month on campus. She just returned from a semester of study in Germany, and is deciding for next year between playing professional soccer in Europe, a graduate degree in radiation oncology, or service in the Lutheran Volunteer Core.
