Limitations and Cautions
Limitations of RC Name
For our F-1 status international students and J status international employees and visitors, the RC Name is for campus use only and cannot replace the name listed on the I-20, I-94 and visa documentation when traveling or applying for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Students, faculty and staff who are U.S. Permanent Residents are required to carry their U.S. Permanent Resident card.
Cautions around RC Name
Hundreds of people already use an RC Name on campus and are comfortable freely sharing that name with everyone. When using an RC Name to express gender identity, it is important to note that once that name is given to the College, it may appear in internal and external communications, including documentation sent home if you are a student. It is not possible for the RC Name to only be shared with certain professors or to only one parent but not another. It is important to be comfortable with the name given in all aspects of personal and professional life. Do not give the College an RC Name if this is not the case.
Cautions Around Chosen Pronoun

When using a chosen pronoun to express gender identity, it is important to note that once that pronoun is given to the College, it may appear in internal and external communications, including documentation sent home if you are a student.
