Yonce Hall History
By 1913, another men's residence hall section was needed. The fourth and fifth halls of Sections were financed by Alumni gifts and honor Dr. William B. Yonce, professor of ancient languages and literature from 1854 until 1895 who, like Dr. Bittle and Dr. Wells, gave his full life to students of Roanoke College. Later, the addition of two wheelchair accessible suites was added to accommodate physically challenged students. Yonce now houses freshmen and upperclass students.
