Accessible Education Services
Accessible Education Services (AES) strives to meet the needs of students with documented disabilities in alignment with Roanoke College's commitment to providing equal access to educational opportunities for all students, in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Campus Recreation
Campus Recreation enhances campus life by offering a wide range of engaging programs to encourage participation in physical activity, facilitate opportunities to learn and try new things, cultivate skills and leadership development, and foster social interactions among students as well as the Roanoke College community as a whole.
Campus Safety
Established in July 1980, the Office of Campus Safety provides the highest level of professional law enforcement and 24-hour security services to the campus community, with a focus on education, community policing and pro-active crime prevention.
Center for Learning and Teaching
The Goode-Pasfield Center for Learning & Teaching provides students with a comfortable, welcoming place where they can realize their academic potential as independent and resourceful learners. The Center features programs for students at all levels of academic accomplishment.
Center for Spiritual Life
The Center for Spiritual Life is home to Maroons of all faiths and worldviews. Whether you are questioning who and whose you are or are strong in your faith, there is a group of people and many programs here for you to explore and become a leader in. Come and see us in Morehead Hall!
Dean of Students
The Office of the Dean of Students serves as a resource for students in the development of their co-curricular experience and making connections to various campus and community resources. The office is also responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing various programs and services that foster interpersonal growth, development, and learning.
International Student Services
Roanoke College has been welcoming students from countries around the world for over a hundred years. In recent years, our students have come from over 30 countries, including Afghanistan, Bahamas, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Finland, France, Germany, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Mexico, Mongolia, Montenegro, Myanmar, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, Palestinian Territories, Peru, Romania, Russia, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe.
Marching Band
The Pride of Roanoke Show Band (marching) and Pride of Roanoke Spirit Band (pep) are highly energized ensembles consisting of brass, woodwinds, marching percussion, keyboard electronica, guitars, color guard and dance performers. The main goals of these ensembles are to serve as music and spirit ambassadors representing Roanoke College, support the institution’s athletic teams and other on-campus programs taking place during the fall and spring semesters.
Multicultural Affairs
The mission of the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is to contribute to an inclusive learning environment by supporting the institutions efforts to retain and graduate students prepared for a diverse global society. We provide mentorship opportunities, deliver diversity education and inclusion training, celebrate the cultural diversity of all students, and advocate for underrepresented groups in the Roanoke College community guided by the College’s mission and our professional CAS standards.
New Student Orientation and Transitions
Acclimating to college life doesn't happen overnight, and we acknowledge this by providing an orientation program that stretches from your admissions process through the end of your first semester, beginning with Summer Orientation, continuing with Welcome Week at the start of your first semester, and extending into your ROA 101 transition course.
Purpose, Life, and Career Exploration (PLACE)
PLACE is the on-campus career center dedicated to helping students find their place through Purpose, Life And Career Exploration. Students can learn more, begin exploring their next steps, and receive career support throughout their entire four years at Roanoke College.
Residence Life and Housing
In support of the mission of Roanoke College, Residence Life & Housing strives to enhance the student experience by providing safe, comfortable, and inclusive residential communities that foster a sense of belonging.
Student Activities
The mission of Student Activities is to engage, entertain, teach, empower, and develop leadership and creative skills in students by producing and supporting diverse cultural, educational, social, recreational and entertainment programs, which enhance co-curricular life and the Roanoke College community. Student Activities programs, clubs, student orgs, and student work groups gain firsthand experience in skills and education in leadership, social responsibility, and values, making co-curricular life an important part of the Roanoke College educational experience. In all its programs, Student Activities encourages self-directed student activity, giving maximum opportunity for students to develop and find their purpose.
Student Health and Counseling
Our mission is to enhance the student educational experience by promoting wellness of the whole person in the living and learning environments, and to empower students to make informed and intentional choices regarding their overall health and well-being. We provide exceptional care by taking an integrated and holistic service delivery approach.
