RC-RV partners with Arcuri Group LLC to enhance safety and resiliency in Roanoke Valley

Roanoke College-Roanoke Valley (RC-RV) and Arcuri Group LLC are excited to announce a partnership that will bring the highest standards of situational awareness and de-escalation training to the Roanoke Valley. 

Arcuri Group is a leading provider of training programs that empower people, organizations, and communities with the critical skills needed to effectively manage and defuse potentially volatile situations. Its clients include hospitals, law enforcement, businesses, nonprofits, schools and more.

Roanoke College’s campus has benefited from its training and now has certified experts capable of leading programs in the Roanoke Valley. The partnership launching today marks the start of a new strategic collaboration that will draw on the strengths of Roanoke and Arcuri to expand and elevate safety resources for the valley.

RC-RV was created by Roanoke to forge innovative campus-community partnerships that strengthen workforce development and continuing education in the region. This joint venture will enable it to combine the college's academic excellence and research capabilities with Arcuri’s deep expertise and experience in safety training.

“We are excited to partner with Arcuri Group to bring world-class situational awareness and de-escalation training to the Roanoke Valley,” said Dr. Lisa Stoneman, executive director of RC-RV. “Having participated in the training, I can speak to its practical usefulness and its alignment with our mission to collaboratively provide innovative education opportunities to the region." 

Key highlights of the partnership include:

• Comprehensive training programs: The partnership will offer a range of training programs designed for diverse audiences, including but not limited to health care, law enforcement, corporate entities, educational institutions and the general public. These programs will focus on the prevention side of the safety and security spectrum by enhancing situational awareness, effective communication and de-escalation techniques.
• Expert instructors: Courses will be led by a team of highly experienced instructors, including experts from both Roanoke College and Arcuri Group. Participants will benefit from their combined knowledge and insights, gaining valuable skills that can be applied in various scenarios.
• Research and innovation: Leveraging the research capabilities of RC-RV, the joint venture will continuously evolve and adapt its training programs based on current best practices.
• Community outreach and engagement: The initiative will actively engage with local communities to promote awareness and foster a culture of safety and preparedness.
