*Augusta Hall must remain at full occupancy (9 beds) throughout the year. Should occupancy fall below this, students may be relocated to other residence halls.*
Different halls have varying costs. Information regarding the current room and board rates can be found on the Business Office's website here.
General information about our residence halls, including floor plans and average room sizes, can be found here.
What kinds of rooms are available?
There are a variety of different rooms available for housing selection. There will be singles, doubles, and triples available, as well as apartments for 2 to 5 people and 4-person suites.
In Marion, approximately half of the rooms will be set aside for students who want to live in 4-person suites with their friends. The remaining rooms will be available for students who have preferred roommates and students who will be picking individual bedspaces.
How do I select an apartment in Afton, Elizabeth, or Maxey Halls?
Students interested in living in an apartment must be a part of a roommate group that is the same size as the apartment they are interested in. For example, if you and two friends want to live in 4-bedroom apartment in Elizabeth, you will need to find another person to add to your roommate group.
All apartments in Elizabeth are made up on single occupancy bedrooms, while Afton apartments are a single bedroom and a double bedroom. All available apartments will be available for selection on April 9, Fill an Apartment/Suite Day.
Can I change my room after I have completed housing selection?
If you are interested in changing rooms once you have picked a space online, you can submit a room change request starting Monday, April 22.
SELECTION PROCESSES
In General Housing Selection, there are a number of different processes that allow students to pick specific types of rooms.
Monday, April 8: Honors Selection Day, which allows pre-authorized Honors students to select spaces on the first and second floors of Maxey Hall.
Tuesday, April 9: Fill an Apartment/Suite Day, which allows groups of students to select entire apartments or suites. The group must be the same size as the apartment or suite in order for it to be selected. The housing portal will not allow you to complete the selection process if you do not have the same number of people in your roommate group as beds in the apartment or suite.
Wednesday, April 10: Fill a Room Day, which allows groups of students to select entire room. The group must be the same size as the room in order for it to be selected. The housing portal will not allow you to complete the selection process if you do not have the same number of people in your roommate group as beds in the room. Singles are available in this process. In order to find a single room, you cannot be in a roommate group.
Thursday, April 11: Fill a Bed Day, which allows individual students to select from available bedspaces throughout campus. Roommate groups who didn’t select during earlier processes can select multiple spaces in the same room if there is any availability. Single rooms will not be available during this time. They are a part of the earlier Fill a Room process.
Friday, April 12: Open selection for any students that did not select during the earlier processes.
Students can only complete one of the above processes. Housing assignments cannot be cancelled or changed after selection in the housing portal. The portal will close for housing selection at 5 pm on Friday, April 12.
TIMESLOTS
All eligible students will be emailed their time slot(s) on Monday, April 1. Time slots are assigned based on the total number of credits completed by the end of December 2023, with earlier time slots being assigned to students who have completed more credits. Students participating in Honors Selection Day will receive a time slot for Monday, April 8. All other students will receive three time slots, one for each process: Fill an Apartment/Suite, Fill a Room, Fill a Bed.
