Student Conduct Sanctions

The following sanctions may be imposed upon any student found in violation of the Student Conduct Code:  

Warning: A notice in writing to the student that the student is violating or has violated institutional regulations.

Educational Assignments: Projects of an educational nature such as Judicial Educator online modules, reflection essays, Alcohol Roundtable, etc.

Administrative Fees: Previously established fees associated with the cost of Educational Assignments.

Probation: A written reprimand for violation of specified regulations. Probation is for a designated period of time. Any type of violation during this period usually results in Suspension or Expulsion from the College if the student is found in violation of any institutional regulation(s) during the probationary period.

Loss of Privileges: Denial of specified privileges for a designated period of time.

Restitution: Compensation for loss, damage, or injury. This may take the form of appropriate service and/or monetary or material replacement.

Residence Hall Suspension: Separation of the student from the residence halls for a definite period of time, after which the student is eligible to return. Conditions for readmission may be specified.

Residence Hall Expulsion: Permanent separation of the student from the residence halls.

College Suspension: Separation of the student from the College for a definite period of time not less than one semester, after which the student is eligible to return. Suspended students must reapply and be readmitted to the College. The suspension takes effect when the appeal for the offense is exhausted, waived or time limit has passed. Suspensions may be implemented in one of two ways: immediate implementation of suspension or deferred implementation of suspension. The sanction of suspension may be placed in deferred status. If the student is found in violation of any College violation during the time of deferred suspension, the suspension takes effect immediately without further review. Additional student conduct sanctions appropriate to the new violation may also be applied. A student who has been issued a deferred suspension sanction is deemed "not in good standing" with the College.

College Expulsion: Permanent separation of the student from the College.

Revocation of Admission and/or Degree: Admission to or a degree awarded from the College may be revoked for fraud, misrepresentation, or other violation of College standards in obtaining the degree, or for other serious violations committed by a student prior to graduation.
