Emergency and After Hours Care

Emergency Response
If you have a medical emergency, follow these steps: Dial 911.

1. Give your name.
2. Give your exact location.
3. Give the nature of the illness or injury.
4. Do not hang up until instructed to do so by the dispatcher.

For mental health emergencies, it is our goal to address the situation promptly. During regular business hours, contact Student Health & Counseling Services at (540) 375-2286. 

For life threatening situations, at any hour, please call Campus Safety at (540) 375-2310 or dial 911.  We are not a 24-hour service. However, RC counselors are part of the after-hours emergency response network available via Campus Safety at (540) 375- 2310. Please be aware that e-mail is not continuously monitored so this is not a way to receive immediate assistance
