Intramural Supervisor
Overview
The Intramural Supervisor is a leader within the Intramural Sports program who must show a high level of commitment for its success. The supervisor will supervise the referees and scorekeepers and be responsible for planning and implementing the various intramural sports. Though all intramural staff members are still allowed to play intramurals, employment may require the individual to make working a priority over participating in the program.
Hours
- 10-12 hours per week
- Mostly in the evenings but may work and attend meetings during the day or on weekends
Responsibilities
- Be on time and ready to work when scheduled and responsible as a key holder
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate referees and scorekeepers
- Stay well-versed on the rules and officiating techniques for the various sports offered
- Organize intramural sports utilizing IMLeagues
- Setup equipment for intramural sports contests and breakdown at its conclusion
- Settle any disputes with rule implementation and maintain peace and order
- Uphold the integrity of the program with appropriate disciplinary actions as necessary
- Submit timely marketing requests to marketing assistant for upcoming programs
- Respond to emergency situations according to level of first responder training
- Maintain an updated inventory of all Intramural Sports equipment
- Attend regular Campus Recreation leadership staff meetings
- Keep an accurate record of hours worked by clocking in and out correctly
- Submit bi-weekly timesheet when due
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be a currently enrolled student in good standing
- Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification or willingness to become certified
- Detailed knowledge of sports rules and strategies preferred
- Exceptional communication and proven leadership skills
- Prior experience as a referee or scorekeeper preferred
