The Personal Trainer, reporting to the Fitness Coordinator, is a valuable component within the personal training program that is responsible for planning and leading personal training sessions for clients.
Hours
Potentially 3-5 hours per week
Hours vary but typically include afternoons and evenings during the week
Responsibilities
Be on time and ready to work when scheduled
Conduct consultations according to industry standard
Plan and lead sessions in a safe and effective manner
Motivate clients throughout their workouts
Make modifications for clients' varying abilities as necessary
Keep track of the number of sessions with each client
Notify the supervisor of any equipment or repair needs
Respond to emergency situations according to level of first responder training
Attend regular Personal Training staff meetings
Keep an accurate record of hours worked and submit timesheet when due
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must be a currently enrolled student in good standing
Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification or willingness to become certified
Current Personal Training certification or willingness to become certified
Must be through an accredited institution (ACE, ACSM, NASM, or NCSA)
Prior knowledge related to fitness and wellness preferred
